The Levitt Pavilion Pasadena is seeking high school and college students to participate in our Summer Internship Program!
At the Levitt Pavilion Pasadena, the opportunity to support young people to explore, develop, and grow individually and as professionals is an important aspect of community building. We look forward to building a community of interns who can develop relationships with peers, other professionals in the field, and other organizations. We know many of our interns will enter the non-profit arts field in the greater Los Angeles area and are excited support our community to grow.

WHAT: The internship programs are designed to accomplish two things: 1) to support the Levitt to accomplish its mission of building community through music and 2) to support students to learn and grow as individuals and professionals and to explore professional opportunities and potential career paths. There are two types of internships available at the Levitt Pavilion Pasadena for Summer 2013:
The Positions Available section described below is an overview of the possible areas in which summer interns will work. Please refer to the job descriptions for a more detailed look each position. Intern work is project-based, making these internships an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience in a non-profit arts organization setting. WHERE: Interns will be working directly with a supervisor at our concert venue in Memorial Park Pasadena and as team at the Levitt offices. WHEN: Summer interns focus on the execution of all aspects of Levitt’s work within the concert season. Our season runs the beginning of June to the end of August. PAY/STIPEND: At the moment, part-time internships are unpaid positions, but the Los Angeles County Arts Commission Full-Time internship is paid. Students may research internship grants and/or stipends through their school or another institution to help with financial support. All internships are eligible for class credit. LACAC PRODUCTION INTERN DESCRIPTION Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a major music concert? Learn the basics of concert production, marketing, community outreach, and promotion with an organization that produces an annual outdoor summer season of 50 free music concerts with acclaimed and Grammy-winning artists from all over the world. Internship duties will include preconcert set-up and breakdown, concert production and management, lighting and sound support, artist hospitality and relations, interaction with audience members, coordination and interaction with vendors, and non-profit organizations, season marketing, promotion and community outreach. SKILLS REQUIRED We are seeking a candidate with a passion for the arts who wishes to learn more about behind-the-scenes performing arts production. Required qualifications: proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong internet research skills and basic understanding of online social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, etc.), excellent verbal and written communication skills, resourcefulness and ability to troubleshoot, ability to represent the organization in a professional manner at concerts and outreach events, ability to interface comfortably with people of different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, self motivating and independent, organized, strong attention to detail, comfortable with public speaking, ability to lift and move equipment (~40lbs), ability to type 40wpm minimum. Reliable transportation required. Experience with sound, lighting, and/or stage management a plus. Interest in music and community-building preferred. Eligibility
Student eligibility for internship positions is limited to currently enrolled undergraduate college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County. Students must have completed at least one semester of college by June 1, 2013 or will complete their undergraduate degree between May 1 - September 1, 2013 in order to be eligible to participate. Students who have already earned a BA, BS or a higher degree are not eligible. Students who have previously participated in the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program are not eligible to participate a second time Permanent Residency Permanent residency means this is where you live when you are not attending school. For example, you went to high school in Los Angeles County, your parents live in Los Angeles County, and when you go home for the holidays or over the summer, “home” is Los Angeles County. A Los Angeles County address is listed on your school transcripts and a Los Angeles County address is what appears on your driver license. All college students of any ethnic background who meet the residence and attendance criteria are eligible to apply to participate in the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program.

On any day, interns might be hitting the streets passing out flyers and delivering posters as part of the Street Team or they may be in the office updating Twitter, interacting with blogs, and putting our events up opn event calendars. Below is are just some of the things Marketing and Outreach interns do on a daily basis. Types of Marketing
Event Production interns are responsible for all aspects of concert event production, from setup to breakdown. Interns are rotated between shifts evert 30 minutes to an hour so they can gain skils in all aspects of event production. Interns may be hanging sponsor banners for the first half-hour, directing parking on their second half-hour, and then working the information booth on their third half-hour. Below are just some of the many things Event Production Interns do on a nightly basis.

The photo/intern team is a specialized group of 4-5 interns. This team will be responsible for event capture (photography and video) at every event, managing and organizing photos and videos, posting photos and videos to webpages and social media, and developing media content to use on our website and social media outlets.
