Come to the Levitt Pavilion to see the beautiful band shell transcend the aura of Brazil when the Viver Brasil Dance Company takes the stage. Co-founded in 1997 by Co-Artistic directors Linda Yudin and Luiz Badaró, Viver Brasil is firmly rooted in the traditional and contemporary forms of Brazil. The company illustrates the beautiful stories of African sacred energies, jubilant samba, contemporary Afro-Brazilian dance and carnival. The recipient of multiple dance awards over the years, they have toured extensively throughout Mexico and the United States, making stops at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Ford Amphitheatre, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. By performing at the Levitt, Viver Brasil hopes to increase awareness of the rich history of Afro-Brazilian dance and music.
